I had recently extended my house by way of constructing a first floor. For this purpose I had engaged Aurora Studio as a co-architect and after completion had also engaged Aurora Studio for planning the interiors including furnishing, designing and selecting furniture and execution of the same.
Although the work was disrupted on account of COVID, Aurora Studio had hand-held me throughout the time ensuring ultimately completion of the work to my satisfaction. I was particularly impressed by their professionalism and promptness with which they had responded to my requests.
Aurora Studio's designs were aesthetically pleasing, their supervision was continuous till the work was executed and fitted. Aurora Studio has a vast knowledge of suppliers both domestic and abroad, all negotiations with the suppliers were monitored for determination of prices, supplies and installations.
I have no hesitation in recommending Aurora Studio to any potential clients should they wish to contact me. I wish Nithya Selvanathan and Aurora Studio all the very best in their future endeavors.

Nithya and her team at Aurora Studio were the Interior Designers for our house. We engaged with Nithya from the very beginning to plan our dream home with all the functionality that a family with young children would need. She proved invaluable in her design suggestions which enabled us to make significantly important changes. Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of working with Nithya and her interior design team at Aurora Studio.
She had the challenging task of working on my apartment during the pandemic and the economic crisis Sri Lanka has been enduring.

Building a house is hard; creating a home even harder. As we dove into our project, Aradhana and I struggled with creating a space that was practical & aesthetic yet contained elements of both of us.
Cue Nithya and her amazing team at Aurora Studio. There are no words to describe the level of patience that her and her team have! We met (several times) to discuss the brief: our vision for what we ultimately wanted. This process in itself was incredibly challenging as we both think so differently in terms of what we want. Nithya simply “got us”: she understood what we were looking for, shared her opinions without forcing any of her ideas on us and helped craft the home of our dreams.
Projects are never easy and trying to complete one in the midst of Covid weren’t without its challenges: we were frustrated and limited by what was available yet the Aurora Studio team just made it work: from sourcing materials, to vendors to ensuring that we were happy with every step. We couldn’t thank the team of Sampath and Shirani enough for what they had done.
As we moved in, they helped us snag issues, add-on elements of design and even make changes where we requested.
Our house is quickly becoming a home and we couldn’t be happier.

From the very first meeting with Aurora studio we knew they were a perfect fit.
At the initial meeting where we discussed the redesign of some of our most used rooms, they were able to grasp our needs within the space, give ideas on how it would be more functional as well as have an aesthetic flow.
As time went on, they came well equipped with mood boards to suit our prior conversations and were very honest with what they thought would and wouldn’t work.
Every aspect of the room; the finishes, fabrics and materials were all taken into account in a professional manner. Their network of painters, furniture suppliers and fabric sources executed the project well. If ever we had issues or feedback they took it on board and rectified and modified where they could.
Overall we were very happy with the process and end result and entrusted Nithya through the project from inception to completion. She managed to strike a balance between visually pleasing, practical and something that was very personal to us and our style.
For any of our future projects we will definitely go back to Aurora Studio and couldn’t recommend them enough.

Working with aurora studios was an absolute pleasure as Nithya’s passion for interior design allowed us to transform our home into a space which is stylish, warm and also workable and practical. The difference in working with aurora studios was that Nithya understood our personalities and helped to create our home taking into account our daily life routine. She asked us questions relating to where we sat to eat breakfast, how much we host/entertain, where we like to sit with our family to unwind, to how many shoes and handbags I had (and much more) including the size of the shoe so she could custom create a shoe cabinet for us (of course taking into consideration future purchases ). She went out of her way to source materials to create pieces which were both functional and beautiful and most importantly she’s always available to visit suppliers with you, to visit the home at every stage making sure everything was absolutely perfect, and making us both feel at ease. I am so pleased with the services offered by aurora studios as our home space reflects both our personalities and is filled with a practical purpose (not only for the present but also for our future). Nithya’s tireless work ethic and professionalism in a place like Colombo is highly commendable as she delivered quicker and more efficiently than most making the whole process seamless.
